Influencer and Creator Outreach
Getting your music in the hands of creators who can amplify it.
Who to Target
Focus on creators whose audience overlaps with your genre and listener demographic. Micro-influencers (10k–100k followers) often yield higher engagement and authentic placements than mega-creators. Look for TikTok creators, Reel makers, and YouTube Shorts producers who post regularly in your space. Search for creators who already use similar songs or have engaged audiences interested in music discovery.
Use platforms like HypeAuditor or Creator.co to vet follower quality and engagement rates.
The Right Pitch
Personalize every outreach. Reference specific videos they've made and explain why your song fits. Keep pitches short—one paragraph max. Offer them something: free downloads, exclusive first access, or co-creation opportunities. Be clear about what you're asking (share the song, use it in a video, etc.) and why it benefits them.
Include a YouTube link or SoundCloud embed, not an attachment.
Paid vs Organic
Organic outreach takes time but builds authentic relationships. Paid partnerships move faster—budget $500–2000 per creator depending on follower count and engagement. Negotiate rates; many creators accept lower fees for growing artists or interesting collaborations.
Hybrid approach: Reach out organically to micro-creators; offer paid placements to mid-tier creators you identify as good fits.
Tracking Results
Create unique discount codes or referral links for each creator. Monitor Spotify for Artists and Apple Music for geographic spikes and follower jumps after placements. Track video views, comment sentiment, and whether the creator's audience followed you afterward.
Document what works: which creators drive streams, which produce the most engaged followers, and which placements lead to playlist adds or label interest.
